Composite drawings are the most common form of forensic art. The primary reason for drawing a composite is to identify an unknown suspect of a crime. These drawings can also be used in the process of eliminating suspects. As an investigative tool, the composite drawing is usually an image of the face, however, jewelry, tattoos, a birthmark or even a weapon can be depicted. Practically any distinguishing element or object associated with the suspect can be drawn as additional visual information for the purpose of identification. | |
